\nYour nose may be the most important part of your face. Okay, maybe\nthat’s your eyes. However even if your eyes are the most functional\npart of your face, your nose is the most prominent. It’s the most\nobvious of them all. It is your nose that sets the character and\ndefines your entire face. It is no surprise that a nose piercing can\naccentuate your face positively. Nostril piercing can be one of the\nmost attractive of all the facial piercings. You’ve probably\nconsidered a nose piercing before but have you ever wondered what the\nhistory of nose piercing is? Well, it’s time for a short history\nlesson!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nose piercing is over 4,000 years old. It started in the middle east and was even mentioned in the Bible. Over time, different people from around the world have graced themselves with beautiful nose rings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nose Bones for Piercings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\nNose bones were used as nose piercing jewelry in ancient times. It\nwas a part of the nomadic tribes of Barber and Beja. Barber was an\nAfrican tribe whole Beja was an ancient tribe of the Middle East.\nNose rings were used by families as gifts, and the size of the ring\nusually represented the wealth of the family. The husband gives his\nbride a nose ring after their marriage. This ring was said to\nrepresent financial security in the event of divorce. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the 16th\ncentury, the tradition was brought to India all the way from the\nMiddle East. The Mughal emperors were responsible for introducing the\nculture to India. It was either a stud or ring in India. This stud\nnose ring was worn in the left nostril even if both nostrils were\npierced. The left nostril was preferred because it is associated with\nthe reproductive parts of the female body\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Punk movement adopted the tradition in the year 1970 to symbolize rebellion against conservative values. (Conservative people being the establishment who didn\u2019t support their faux-anarchist attitudes.) Early on, there were so many things that a person should consider before getting a nose ring – things like potential employment and parenting choices affected people’s decision to get a nose ring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In recent times,\nnose piercing has gradually become more socially acceptable than it\nused to be. Many members of society have embraced nose piercing. It\nis no longer considered deviant in many parts of the developed world.\nCelebrities like Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Slash from Guns and Rose,\nSinead O’Connor and so many others have nostril piercings. More\npeople are seen with little gem-topped hoops, studs, and many other\nbeautiful piercings in different parts of society from hospitals to\nshopping malls. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
